Jessica Bartholow, Legislative Analyst for Western Center on Law and Poverty, talks about the indignity of hunger and poverty, not only on the poor and hungry, but on the communities which allow the hunger and poverty to happen.  The statewide lifetime ban on receipt of CalWORKs cash benefits and food stamps (CalFRESH) for people who are convicted of drug felonies diminishes job opportunities and increases hunger and poverty. Thjis ban will be repealed in California effective April 1, 2015.
