In this first edition of The Big Idea Nicolas talks with The Chico Peace and Justice Center's Public Policy Intern Bree Jones about The March 5th Chico City Council meeting. This leads them into a discussion about crime and prevention as Bree tells of a threatening situation at The Chico State Library. They discuss how The Chico State Police responded to the situation and how their response rattled and shocked students of color. Bree explains her plans for addressing this issue at future city council meetings. Later in the show, Blake Hollingsworth, HR Manager at The Chico Peace and Justice Center, joins Nicolas in reacting to Bree's first hand account.
