KZFR Has The Best Volunteers

Thank you to everyone who volunteered during KZFR's Special 25th Anniversary Fall 2015 pledge drive. We could not do it without you!

Much gratitude goes to the amazing people and local non-profit groups for supporting community radio by answering the phones during the pledge drive! We appreciate them all.

The following 5 organizations went above and beyond by staffing multiple shifts - Home at Last Sanctuary, Torres Shelter, Chico Certified Farmers Market, Catalyst and the Paradise Grange!

Home at Last Sanctuary - "HALS is home to more than 70 horses, donkeys and mules, plus calves, goats, dogs and cats-all rescues. The animals at HALS receive the best care, feed and vet attention. Quality of life is our main concern. Juan came with an upturned hoof and now has a specially made shoe. The horses, donkeys and mules rely on your kindness to help them."

Torres Shelter - "The Chico Community Shelter Partnership is dedicated to assisting a wide variety of people in their efforts to achieve self-sufficiency and a more stable lifestyle."

Chico Certified Farmers Market - "The CCFM provides a unique opportunity for farmers and vendors to sell directly to the consumer by hosting State Certified Farmers’ Markets. Our first Farmers’ Market began in Chico, CA in July of 1980. Our market moved several times before we found our ideal home at our current location in the City of Chico Municipal Parking Lot #1 at 2nd and Wall Streets in Downtown Chico, CA."

Catalyst - "Catalyst is committed to serving the needs of all victims of domestic violence and their children regardless of ethnicity, citizenship, language, religion, physical disabilities, sexual orientation, gender identity or HIV status."

Paradise Grange #490 - "Build Community - Support Local Agriculture - Promote Sustainable Living - Education."

And the following organizations volunteered as well. We appreciate everyone's efforts! Thank you all!

Atheists of Butte County -"A California north state association of Freethinkers, Humanists, Rationalists, Skeptics and Atheists united to provide members with meaningful social, educational, voluntary and advocacy activities."

BCAC TV - "We're about community, nonprofits, artists, recreation, government and what makes every human being special - culture."

Brain Injury Coalition - "The BIC is an advocacy and educational organization dedicated to promoting brain injury awareness and creating opportunities for individuals with brain injury, their caregivers, and families.

Butte Literacy Council - "BLC was established in 1989 to support local efforts promoting literacy and enjoyment of reading in Butte County and surrounding areas. Among our purposes are increasing public awareness of available local literacy resources, assisting in identifying areas of literacy needs, directing efforts to improve literacy in the Butte County area, providing referral information about literacy services and instituting programs that assist learners in attaining their literacy goals"

Chico Science Fair - "CSF provide guidance to the Chico Science Fair and ensure the continued availability and vitality of this community-wide celebration of scientific inquiry for the student citizens of Chico, Calif."
