We Love Local NonProfits

Thank you to EVERYONE who volunteered to staff our phones during our recent Fall 2023 pledge drive, especially the 23 nonprofit organizations!

Much appreciation to all of the local non-profit groups who answered the pledge line phones for 10 days along with dedicated community members, programmers and board members. 

We appreciate all the groups listed below. Your volunteer time keeps independent community radio going strong which in turn gives everyone in our community a chance to be heard. Musicians, Activists, Artists & YOU!

Butte Humane Society - "We are one of the oldest non-profit agencies in Butte County, California, working since 1911 to bring humanitarian care to dogs and cats. We are a Limited Admission shelter that strives to make our animals as comfortable as possible during their stay with us."

Catalyst Domestic Violence Services - "Catalyst is committed to serving the needs of all victims of domestic violence and their children regardless of ethnicity, citizenship, language, religion, physical disabilities, sexual orientation, gender identity or HIV status."

Chico Area Interfaith Council - "Exists to strengthen bonds among faith groups in service to the community. We provide educational programs to foster public understanding and tolerance, create opportunities for building relationships across lines of difference, and facilitate cooperation on community efforts that reflect the shared values of our diverse traditions.

Chico Housing Action Team - "The mission of the CHAT is to ensure that every person in our community has access to fair and adequate shelter and sanitation."

Chico Homeless Animal Outreach - "The specific purpose of this organization is to promote the well-being of companion animals belonging to people in Chico who live on the streets, are homeless, or seeking emergency shelter, by providing foster care, spaying and neutering, vaccinations, other necessary medical care."

Chico Velo - "Chico Velo works very hard to advocate and educate our community and beyond about the benefits and joys of bicycling and non motorized means of transportation."

Computers for Classrooms - "CFC offers low-cost systems to schools, non-profits, and low-income families."

Groundwater for Butte - "The groundwater belongs to the public and must be managed transparently by publicly elected authorities - not privatized as a "water bank."

Friends of Butte Creek - "The Friends of Butte Creek work to protect, restore and enhance the natural habitats of wildlife in the Butte Creek Watershed."

Habitat For Humanity of Butte County - "HFH brings people together to build homes, communities and hope."

Neighborhood Cat Advocates - "​Our mission is to reduce and possibly one day end the severe overpopulation of unowned cats in our community."

Paradise Community Guilds - Newly renamed Paradise Grange is now the Norton Buffalo Hall "Build Community - Support Local Agriculture - Promote Sustainable Living - Education.

Safe Space Winter Shelter - providing low-barrier emergency shelter from December through March for people experiencing homelessness in Chico, California.

Stonewall Alliance - "We are an active resource for the LGBTQ+ community, and we are open, safe, and inclusive for all people. We provide information, advocacy, referrals, and support to those who come to us."

True North Housing Alliance - "we meet people where they are on their path to making a better life for themselves. We offer a spectrum of services that move people forward and out of homelessness in Butte County with compassion, dignity, and accountability."

Valley Oak Children Services - "Today Valley Oak Children’s Services is a dynamic organization focusing on healthy children, families, and a thriving community. We have a wide variety of services developed based on the needs of our community."

Women's Health Specialists - "The philosophy of Women's Health Specialists is to promote positive images of women and provide our clients with a new perspective on their bodies and health."
