"The debate about guns is distracting us from the issues we really should be focusing on, which is how do we create a society where we have less violence, where people feel like they're included?" - Dr. Saul Cornell

American Totem explores the topic of guns in America from a more nuanced approach than the standard "more guns versus less guns" debate. The film recognizes that Americans have complex, and often contradictory, relationships with firearms. This film will take you on a journey through various worldviews of Americans that are often neglected in the modern gun debate, as well as the myths and misconceptions surrounding guns in America.

KZFR programmers Sue Hildebrand (The Real Issue host) and Dan Carter (O'Dark:30host) are the dedicated team that created this thought provoking film.

Pi Sigma Alpha (Political Science Honor Society) will host this special screening on 3/26. A discussion about firearms will immediately follow the film.
