KZFR Presents Jonathan Richman

    Jonathan Richman is back at the Women's club for a KZFR show with Sunday Iris with Dave Elke and Lisa Langley opening at 7:30pm. Doors at 6:30pm This will be a special show.

    In 1970, he founded the Modern Lovers, an influential proto-punk band. Since the mid-1970s, Jonathan Richman has worked either solo or with low-key, acoustic and electric, backing. Currently, he plays only acoustic to protect his hearing. He is known for his music that, while rooted in rock and roll, is influenced by music from around the world.

    Jonathan Richman's Ishkode! Ishkode! (his first full length album in five years. “Ishkode” means “fire” in the Native American Ojibwe language) and SA! (SA the root note in Indian ragas was what Ramakrishna, the much beloved mystic, told his spiritual students to search for underneath all things of this world) LPs are available at Blue Arrow Records.
