Oroville inaugurates its latest attraction with the grand opening of the Lantrip Ashtray Museum, perhaps the world’s largest collection of ashtrays in the world Tuesday with a ribbon cutting ceremony featuring city officials and relatives of Dean Lantrip, the town’s former postmaster who spent nearly 20 years assembling his collection of 10,000 items following his retirement in 1993. Lantrip died last year. The grand opening is scheduled for Tuesday from 3 to 4 pm at the museum, 1931 Arlin Rhine Memorial Drive, Oroville. For more information call 538-2415.
