This year kicks off the seventh year of the Tour De Ed, a fundraiser for the Chico Cyclist Care Fund. This event was started when Chico’s icon Ed McLaughlin had a tragic bicycle accident that left him as a quadriplegic.
The Tour De Ed is a bike ride through the almond blossoms takes place on Sunday March 3, 2013. Definitely a fun ride for the whole family. All riders start together at 10 am with a police escort through town. Following road signs the riders work their way to Durham elementary for a rest stop them back home on the bike path. Registration starts at 8 am until 10 am at the Downtown City of Chico parking lot at 4th and 5th streets between Main and Wall. Cost is $25.00 per rider. All proceeds from the ride go to the fund.
